ELLUMINATE TO SUPPORT MICROSOFT OFFICE COMMUNICATOR
Integration Will Allow Seamless Access to Live eLearning And Training Environment
Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, March 21, 2005 – Elluminate, Inc., a leading provider of live eLearning and Web collaboration solutions for the real-time organization, announced today that it will integrate Elluminate Live! Enterprise Edition™ with Microsoft ® (Nasdaq: MSFT) Office Communicator. Microsoft’s announcement of its latest upgrade to Office Communicator 2005 brings renewed awareness of the importance of real-time collaboration between individuals, groups and organizations. With the addition of Elluminate Live!, consumers of the new version of Communicator will gain seamless access to a learning environment that supports many-to-many Voice-over-the-Internet (VoIP), as well as the ability to engage users on other platforms such as Macs and Linux.
The integration of Elluminate Live! with Microsoft Office Communicator will enable users to enter live Elluminate sessions for training and distance learning, with access to all the features organizations expect in live Web conferencing and eLearning solutions, including shareable whiteboards, polling and quizzing, private breakout rooms, and direct text messaging for public and private chat. Elluminate customers will continue to reap the benefits of Elluminate Live! and its innovative Java-based Collaborative Communication Framework (CCF), which delivers the highest quality user experience and most complete solution for collaborative, conferencing and eLearning markets.
"Microsoft’s evangelism of its Communicator 2005 product will raise the awareness of individuals, corporations and academia to the strategic importance of real-time collaboration. It widely validates what our customers have come to expect from Elluminate the past five years," said Rajeev Arora, Vice President of Strategy at Elluminate. "This exposure will benefit the entire market for providers of real-time collaborative solutions such as Elluminate, and highlight the need for products that can offer the best solution for their specific needs. We expect Elluminate to continue to be the product of choice for distance learning and remote training needs."
"Sloan Consortium decided that a blended environment of asynchronous and synchronous learning would help us open up our workshop to a wider audience, nationally and internationally. We looked at a number of synchronous solutions and determined that Elluminate Live! was the best fit. It doesn’t require a phone and works with both PCs and Macs, so it’s convenient and cost-effective," said Keith Bourne, Director of Marketing, Sloan Consortium.
