Sloan Consortium’s Premium Membership: An Asset to the Academic Community
Needham, Mass., July 1, 2004 – The Sloan Consortium, an association of academic institutions and organizations that share information about effective online learning, has established a new level of membership: The Premium Membership provides even greater access to the newest thinking in online learning, and enhances the resources available through the free trial membership. The Premium Membership combines Sloan-C's paid services into cost-effective bundles as opposed to the typical "a la carte" services, creating a significant savings while allowing extensive access to Sloan-C resources – including publications, online journals, workshops, conferences, and much more.
The benefits provided to the academic community through the Premium Membership will be inevitable – not only through the cost savings it provides members, but more notably by the resources that Sloan-C has to offer. Sloan-C facilitates the collaborative sharing of knowledge and effective practices to improve online education in learning effectiveness, access, affordability for learners and providers, and student and faculty satisfaction – Premium Members will have access to this broad expanse of information.
The Premium Membership is offered in two forms: individual and institutional. Both of these will cater to one's needs either as an individual interested in the most recent findings in online learning or as an institution involved in establishing or facilitating online programs. Premium Membership begins August 1, 2004, but registration has already begun. Sloan-C is currently offering up to 3 sets of their Sloan-C Series in Online Learning Volumes 1-4, a $525 value, to new premium members. This offer will continue while supplies last. More information about the Premium Membership and its many benefits can be found at http://www.sloan-c.org/info/premium.asp.
