Learn From the Experts - The Sloan-C 2009 Workshop Series
Workshops are designed to help implement and improve online programs. The intended participants in these workshops are faculty, administrators, designers, and researchers that are involved with or affected by online programs in Higher Education. See the 2009 workshop schedule.
The Sloan-C Teaching Certificate Program- A first Step toward Faculty Development
The goal of the teaching certificate program is to enable faculty to begin or refine their online teaching and to develop ePortfolios for showcasing accomplishments. The certificate series introduces the elements of effective design and delivery for online education. As the basis for the certificate, participants should select one of their courses to design or refine for online delivery and work on it during the certificate.
The Sloan-C Online Teaching Certificate is offered as a sequence of three foundational courses and three electives leading from the conceptual to the implementation of online learning effectiveness best practices. The program's theoretical underpinning stems from Sloan-C's five pillars of quality in online education: student satisfaction, access, learning effectiveness, faculty satisfaction, and institutional cost effectiveness -- More about the certificate.
Conferences
The Sloan-C International Conference on Online Learning brings together practitioners and researchers, administrators, instructional designers, faculty developers, library and support people, instructors, and students to try to make sense of the fast growing and rapidly changing field of online and blended learning. It is geared to both experienced professionals and interested newcomers who hail from a variety of work sectors, including higher education, K-12 education, continuing education, business, government, health care, professional associations, and nonprofit organizations. Together we will share the latest information on research findings, current practice, emerging trends, and promising new technologies, and explore what online and blended learning portends for ourselves, our institutions, and our society.
Come celebrate the 14th year of our conference with us, November 5-7, 2008 in Orlando, FL. -- More
